                 Time: 2.00 - 4.00 pm

Convenor: Sheila Summerscales, Wiiloway, Bolton, Appleby CA16 6AW

Tel: 01768 362783

GROUP 2: This group is co-ordinated by Judith Markey . We now have 8 members and would currently welcome more. Our members come from all over the Eden Valley, and we meet centrally in a member’s home in Penrith on the first Thursday of each month. Our choice of books is a mixture of members’ suggestions and what is available through the public library’s service for Book Groups. We aim to read one classic and one volume of short stories every year.

GROUP 3:  Meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 10.30 –12.30. Books are selected by the individual whose house is the venue each different month. That person leads the discussion before everyone else joins in!

Linda Cooke is the convenor, and says they are a lovely group of people who would welcome a few more keen readers.

BOOK CIRCLE 4 meets on the first Thursday of each month, excluding July and August, when we enjoy a well earned rest!

The Group is currently only six strong and so would welcome new members.  Until we outgrow the average living room, we will continue to meet at each other's houses in rotation, which means that the task of providing coffee and biscuits is equitably shared.

Each member of the group takes it in turn to choose a book to be studied and we try to work out a year's programme in advance.  In general, the person who has chosen a book will lead the discussion of it.  There are no pre-determined criteria for the books we are willing to study and we welcome the opportunity to read fiction and non-fiction (in particular biographies).

The convenor is Kathy Taylor -   telephone 07712 168085
